It’s technically Valentine’s Day, but my family celebrates Jeep Day.
I’m not that into Valentine’s Day. I believe people should buy gifts or write love letters on any day of the year, not just on one specific day. Getting presents on Valentine’s day makes you wonder if they wanted to buy you something or felt obligated. I happen to think it’s far more romantic for a man to go out and pick a bouquet of wildflowers in the summer, than to go to a store and buy roses. But then again, I’m a simple girl who likes being outside, preferably in the woods.
That being said, five years ago, my husband and I had finally worked hard enough to be able to afford getting our dream vehicle: 4 door Jeep Wrangler. The plan was to get one in the spring, but my husband decided to surprise me with one for Valentine’s Day.
So, we decided to turn Valentine’s Day into Jeep Day where we take off on an adventure in our Jeep and make it fun for the whole family. We usually get Dunkin’ Donuts and drive around for awhile before heading to our destination. We often stay at a hotel with a water park, but this year, we are taking the boys to see How to Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World. I’m just as excited to see it as they are! I should probably bring Kleenex, because I already know I’m going to be crying.
Best. Animated movies. Ever.
